Day #2

Today I got a little creative in Photoshop. I played with converting the image to water color. I've never done this before and kind of like the end result. Cameron had a "End of Soccer Season" party and so I went on a little walk at the park and found a trio of ducks in the creek. The creek is kind of scummy so the water color conversion really "cleans" up the creek! I can see already on day #2 that this is going to be a project filled with challenges.

Picture #1

Well, what a better way to start off this project than a photo field trip! My dad has been teaching a photo class at his church and I've been helping out. Today we shot images at Christa McAuliff Elementary and then Legler Barn. I've shot tons of images at Legler Barn, but usually they are of customers. It was nice to be there shooting on my own. This image was an opportunity for me to try something new. I have never adjusted the output of my flash before. I needed to do so here so that I could correctly expose the foreground while also preserving the background.

My new project!

I recently made a new friend at work named Jason and I noticed he had the same camera bag as me. He explained that he was doing a "picture a day" project and was carrying his camera everywhere to remind him to shoot and post 1 picture every day. I've often thought about doing this (my dad does something of this sort) and guess I was inspired to get off the couch and start this project. So, my plan is to shoot and post something every day for the next year. Could be interesting! I hope to learn and really expand my photographic eye at the same time. Enjoy the images!
